The Green Bay Phoenix roster returned to full strength Thursday night.
Hunter Crist missed the team’s previous three games due to a foot injury but returned to the lineup in the Phoenix 80-67 loss to Wright State at the Resch Center.
Crist, a 6’3” freshman guard from Crown Point, Indiana, suffered the injury during Green Bay’s 85-74 loss at Youngstown State back on January 6th and was seen in a walking boot during the last several games.
“He practiced (Wednesday),” head coach Linc Darner said after the game Thursday night via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I wasn’t planning to play him much, but we were behind. We were tired. We have to give somebody a blow. We figured we’d throw him in and see how he did.”
Crist played 7 minutes in the game against Wright State and was scoreless but did make several hustle plays on defense including taking a charge and forcing a steal.
His return provides more depth for the Green Bay roster since Crist can play both guard positions.
In 19 games he’s averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 assists in 15.5 minutes per game as a freshman this season.
