Keifer Sykes to play NBA Summer League with Pistons

Green Bay legend Keifer Sykes is once again knocking on the door of the National Basketball Association.

Sykes was recently named to the Detroit Pistons NBA Summer League roster after playing last season for their G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise.

It will be the 5th time the 6’0” guard has played in the NBA’s summer league having also played for the Cavaliers, Warriors, Nuggets, and Pacers.  He eventually broke through and made his regular season NBA debut with Indiana on December 29, 2021 and went on to appear in 32 games making 11 starts and averaging 5.6 points and 1.9 assists per game for the Pacers that season, including a career high 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Sykes, who was also recently inducted into the Green Bay Phoenix Hall of Fame, had an illustrious collegiate career at UWGB and is one of just eight players in the 43 year history of the Horizon League to be named the conference’s Player of the Year multiple times. In 2014, he helped lead the Phoenix to its first regular season conference title in 18 years.

The Pistons’ summer league schedule tips off in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon vs the Orlando Magic at 4:30 PM on ESPN followed by a matchup with the Houston Rockets on Sunday at 5:00 PM on ESPN2.

Detroit will also face the Toronto Raptors (Wednesday, 7/12) at 5:00 PM on ESPN2 and wrap up the regular portion of the summer league slate against the San Antonio Spurs (Friday, 7/14) at 7:30 PM on NBA TV.  Playoff matchups and brackets will be announced at a later date.
